Here, we can define the pricing rules based on specific conditions.
In the DHL integration, we have added the functionality to generate labels based on the number of cartons. A new button, called “Direct Ship Out,” has been added in the picking. This button is similar to the “Validate” button, but the key difference is that it allows us to specify the number of cartons for direct shipment. The concept of cartons is similar to packages in Odoo.
1. Single Carton
Here, we use the default “Validate” button or the “Direct Shipout” button and set the number of cartons accordingly.
An example of a DHL label is given below.
Here, we have a tracking link that will redirect to the corresponding DHL shipment.
2. Multiple Cartons
Based on the number of cartons specified in the field, labels are created. For example, if 2 cartons are specified, 2 labels will be created and merged into one PDF.
Based on the number of cartons, the corresponding number of tracking links is generated.
Add New Delivery Address
In the sales order, we have a boolean field “Add New Delivery Address.” In this case, the values in the marked fields are passed as the receiver address.
If the “Add New Delivery Address” option is disabled, the delivery address field values are passed as the receiver address.
Conclusion
The DHL Integration with Odoo simplifies delivery pricing and shipment fulfillment by connecting the Shipping Rate Method with configurable pricing rules and carton-based label generation. Whether shipping a single carton or several, labels and tracking links are generated automatically, and the delivery address can be controlled directly from the sales order. Together, these capabilities help automate shipping, reduce manual effort, and keep DHL shipments synchronized directly within Odoo.
