Odoo is open source. Odoo Community is free under the LGPL-3.0 licence and Odoo Enterprise adds Odoo Studio, multi company and Odoo.sh hosting. SugarCRM
A Web Based CRM Solution

SugarCRM launched in 2004 as open source software, but stopped updating its free Community Edition in 2014 and is proprietary today. In April 2026 the company rebranded as SugarAI, repositioning around AI guided precision selling, and now sells four product editions rather than two.

Sugar Sell covers sales automation, Sugar Serve handles service cases and Sugar Market is priced by contact volume rather than by seats. Sugar Enterprise is the on premise tier, built on a PHP and JavaScript stack with REST APIs, while the SugarCloud service is hosted on Amazon Web Services. AI ships as the paid Sugar Intelligence add on. This comparison uses Sugar Enterprise.
