Credit notes are just like invoices which allows you to cancel the issued invoices, either partially or completely. It is an official legal document which is also known as a credit memo or credit memorandum.
Credit notes are mainly used in situations such as when a customer returns the goods or services provided due to any reasons, when the customer by mistake makes an overpayment or when the initial price on the invoice was a mistake.
