Odoo 16 provides several features that can help you upsell your business, including alternative products, accessories, and optional products. These features can be used to create several different upselling strategies. For example, a business could use alternative products to suggest a more expensive version of a product that is out of stock. Or, a business could use accessories to suggest products to make the customer's purchase more complete. Or, a business could use optional products to suggest products that would add value to the customer's purchase. 

Upselling can also improve the customer experience by providing customers with additional options and making it easy to find the products they need. It can also help you to increase your sales by encouraging customers to buy more than they originally intended. And it helps businesses to increase customer loyalty by showing customers that the business is interested in their needs and that they want to help them get the most out of their purchase. 

In Odoo 16, you can configure these accessories, alternatives, and optional products in the Product creation form. The product page is also easily accessible via the eCommerce tab of the Odoo 16 website module.

Create a new product and set the accessory, alternative, and optional products under the Sales tab of the product form.

Under the sales tab, you can see the upsell and cross-sell options. Upselling and cross-selling are two sales techniques that can help you increase your revenue. Upselling is the process of selling a customer a more expensive or higher-margin product or service than the one they initially intended to purchase. Cross-selling is the process of selling a customer additional products or services that are related to the ones they have already purchased. 

Optional products: These are products that are not essential, but may be of interest to the customer. For example, if a customer is purchasing a Laptop, you could suggest an extended warranty. They are recommended whenever the customer clicks on the add to cart button for the main product on the website.

Accessory products: These are products that are often used in conjunction with the main product. For example, if a customer is purchasing a new Laptop, you could suggest a printer, mouse, or keyboard. They are suggested while the customer reviews the cart before payment. 

Alternative products: These are products that are similar to the product the customer is currently viewing, but offer different features or benefits. For example, if a customer is looking at a laptop, you could suggest an alternative laptop with a larger screen or a more powerful processor. On the main product page, these products can be seen in the section below.  

Once you have enabled these features, you can start upselling and cross-selling your products through the website. And don’t forget to publish the products on your website.

Here you can see the Alternative products that you provided in your product form. By seeing a variety of alternative products, customers can better understand their options and make a more informed decision about which product is right for them. You can increase your chances of upselling when you sell a customer a more expensive or higher-margin product or service than the one they originally planned to purchase.

When you click on the add to cart button, you can see the list of optional products that you configured in the product form. From here, customers can easily add optional products to their cart without having to leave the product page. This can save them time and effort, and it can also help them make a more informed purchase decision. And you can increase your chances of making a sale by giving customers more options to choose from. This can make the customer feel like they are getting a better deal, and it can also help them find the product that is right for them.

After adding products to the cart, customers can review their orders during the checkout process. Here you can see a suggestion of accessory products that you configured in the upsell and cross-sell sections of the product form.
