Generate Leads Through Website in Odoo

Odoo is an efficient ERP for managing your business process in a very smooth and efficient manner. The attractive feature of Odoo is that every application like Sales, Accounting, Manufacturing, and others are interconnected to each other making the organizational functions transparent and streamlined.

In this blog, we are going to discuss the topic of how to generate leads or opportunities for our website visitors. To conduct the process, Odoo has an Application named Contact Form. This application integrates a contact form in your "Contact us" page in the website and automatically create leads in Odoo CRM whenever the form is submitted. This action allows a better qualification of the lead, which is perfect to link with marketing campaigns. 

Go to Apps > Contact Form. Install the Application Contact Form with technical name website_crm.


After the successful installation of the Contact form, if you go to the website and click on the contact us page, you will be embedded with different options for the visitors. 

Upon further click, you can also see the contact form.


Now you can have a look on what is there in the contact page before installing the Contact Form Application.


It looks like the above image and when you further click on Send Us an email button, an email composing wizard will pop up, where you can insert the details and queries and later send it across your contacts.

This is somewhat time to consume and not so user-friendly. But after the installation of our application, the process becomes simple and easy. Now we can go to our contact form.

Fill the necessary details such as name, phone number, email, question etc. After the proper updation of data click on the Send Button. When we send our query we can immediately get the status of it.ie we get a message that looks like below.


Whenever the visitor submits the form, the data is automatically fetched to leads. Go to CRM > Pipeline


We can see the submitted query here as a lead which you can proceed with. You can also see that all the information given in the contact form is automatically filled in the lead.

How Can we prefill the opportunity field. I don't want the customers to type it. For example: if the form is regarding some product "x" . I want the opportunity field to be filled in by us as product X. I just want the contact details to be filled in by the customers. So in the CRM app lead will be Product X. And when i click it i see the customer contact details.
