Tips are a gesture of gratitude and customer satisfaction. In several businesses, customers often give tips to the people who served them. Sometimes the Tips will be great in value and we need to manage it properly. So here comes our question, how to handle this tip in Odoo. We can manage the tips given by customers effectively in Odoo POS. In Odoo the tips are managed as a separate consumable type product. Here in this blog, I will be explaining how to handle the tips in Odoo point of sale.

How to do it?
We already mentioned that the tips are managed as a separate product. So before going to further configuration and settings, let us see how to create a Tip product.
Go to Products menu and create a product named Tip as consumable type product.
Note: Make sure that the product type is a consumable type.
Once the product is created the next step is about the configurations. First Go to app store and install the Odoo point of sale module.
After successful installation of the module, navigate to Point of sale -> Dashboard, and create POS.
Now we have to activate Tip accept option in each POS. Select the point of sale where you wish to activate Tip acceptance.
Click ‘More’ option to display the hidden menu options.
Then click on the settings, you will be navigated to a new window, where you can see a number option related to that particular POS.Scroll down the screen you can see an option ‘Tip Product’ under features selection.
The Tip Product field is a many2one field, click the field and select the product we have created earlier.
Now click on Save button.
A new Tip button will appear in POS window.
Select the products in order line, then go to the payment, there you can see the button to accept the tips, Click on it and accept the tips.
