How to Configure Public Holidays and Mandatory days in Odoo 18 TimeOff

Functional Odoo 18 Time Off Odoo Enterprises Odoo Community

By promoting communication, streamlining the leave application process, and keeping well-organized documentation, an efficient leave management system assists businesses in controlling employee absences. Leave management software helps with goal-setting, paid time off management, and labor-related coordination by providing information on scheduled absences, shifts, performance indicators, and reasons for absences. The Odoo 18 Time Off Module is a tool for scheduling changes, assessing requests, and managing employee vacation entitlements. It enables managers to plan job distribution, monitor team absenteeism, and offer resources for paid time off, stress days, and public holidays.

For any firm to maintain both operational continuity and employee satisfaction, efficient time off management is essential. A complete solution for managing leave policies, requests, approvals, and schedules is offered by Odoo's Time Off module. Its design of public holidays and mandatory days is one of its primary benefits, allowing HR departments to more effectively manage leave entitlements and automate non-working days. This paper investigates the advantages of public holidays and required days for leave management in Odoo.

Odoo makes sure that the relevant leave days are subtracted from the employees' available vacation time after mandatory days are established. This feature guarantees that employee balances stay accurate while assisting enterprises in avoiding human tracking. Additionally, it makes these required days visible to workers on their calendar of vacation days, which encourages openness and awareness. Additionally, HR has the authority to establish distinct policies for various employee groups, such as denying required leave to interns or part-timers.

  • For precise compensation, the Odoo 18 Time-Off incorporates required days and public holidays with payroll.
  • Adapts payroll computations automatically in accordance with these settings.
  • Facilitates efficient payroll processing and keeps proper attendance records.

Public Holidays

Depending on where they are located, businesses and organizations may observe several public holidays. Using the "Configuration" option of the Odoo 18 Time Off Module, users can select "Public Holidays" and insert public holidays that are applicable in their nation or region. A list view containing details about the holiday, such as the name, firm, start and end dates, working hours, and kind of job entry, is displayed to visitors when they arrive at the "Public Holidays" homepage.

To add the holiday name, company, start date, and finish date to a new line, click the New button. While the End Date is based on the user's computer's time zone, the Start Date is in line with the business's working schedule. The start time will be modified to account for any time zone differences on the user's PC. The drop-down option allows you to choose the working hours, or if it is left blank, the holiday is applicable to all employees. In the Payroll application, the work entry type can be defined by choosing it from the drop-down menu. Employees with set working hours should be eligible for the holiday.

You can update further details about the public holiday in a new form view by clicking on the interlink that appears at the end of the editing line, as in the image below. This public holiday configuration form enables companies to personalize different elements associated with each holiday.

These include specifying the holiday benefits, modifying time-off options, and customizing the payslip display details. This ensures that corporate policies are followed and helps to align employee expectations. The DISPLAY IN PAYSLIP, UNPAID, VALID FOR ADVANTAGES, TIME OFF OPTIONS, and REPORTING sections can be used to set this, as illustrated below.

Whether the holiday is added as an extra perk or subtracted from yearly leave, time-off balances can be set to account for its effect on employee leave. The TIME-OFF OPTIONS area is where you can accomplish this.

Under the REPORTING section, comprehensive reporting options can also be configured to monitor how public holidays affect payroll computations, time-off requests, and attendance records.

These days, they can be set up to be department-specific or company-wide. For these required days, workers in the designated department or organization are unable to request time off.
