Whenever a website visitor expresses interest in your business or needs support from officials regarding the products and services you offer for them, you can provide a platform on your website where they can directly contact your company. Odoo enables you to create and design a dedicated Contact Us page on your website with the assistance of the Website Builder. On this page, you can publish a contact form for visitors to submit their questions and doubts regarding your business. This contact form can be used as a source of lead generation in Odoo.

Using a contact form, you can collect basic information about a visitor such as a name, email address, and phone number of the visitor. When a visitor completes and submits the contact form on the website, Odoo will automatically generate a lead in the CRM module. Nowadays, you can find the Contact Us page on almost all websites. From the main dashboard of the Website module, you can click on the Go To Website button which will lead you to the website. On the Website, you can find the New button on the top right corner of the screen which will help you to create a new Contact Us page.


As soon as you click on the New button, a new window will appear as shown in the image above where you can select the Page option. The Page option will assist you to create a new page for your website. You can give the title ‘Contact Us’ for the new page and design the page with advanced building snippets from Odoo Website Builder.

After creating a page, you can click on the Edit button to add more functionalities to the newly created page. Here, we are discussing the contact form on the Contact Us page. So, you can select the Form snippet under the Dynamic Content tab in the editing panel.


Just drag and drop the Form snippet to the required space on your page. The style option in the editing panel will help you to style the snippet.


You can add more fields to the form using the +Field button. Here, we are creating the Contact Form to generate leads. So, you can select the Create an Opportunity from the drop-down list in the Action button.


You can assign a Sales Team and Salesperson for the opportunities created through this form in the given spaces. After making the necessary changes, you are allowed to click on the Save button.

Now, the visitors can find this Contact Form when they visit the Contact Us page. As shown in the image below, you will get the Contact Form on the Contact Us page where you can ask your queries related to the business.


After mentioning the details asked in the form, you can click on the Submit button.


Once you submit the form, you will get a confirmation message of successful submission and a lead will be automatically created in the Odoo CRM module.

You can check the new leads created from the Website in the CRM module by selecting the module from the home dashboard of your Odoo database. Go to the Leads menu of the CRM module.


This platform will show all leads from various sources in Odoo. The leads generated through Contact Form can be also found in the list. In order to easily locate leads from a website, you can use the Group By option. As you can see in the screenshot below, select the Medium Group by option which will group the leads based on their medium of generation.


The leads from the Contact Form can be seen under the medium Website. You can select the required lead from the given list. The details that the visitor specified in the Contact Form can be seen in the Leads window as shown in the screenshot below.


Now, the assigned salesperson can convert this lead to an opportunity by clicking on the Convert into Opportunity button. Based on the progress of the relationship between the company and the client, you can convert the lead to an opportunity. In this method, you can effortlessly generate leads from websites and convert them into opportunities from the Odoo CRM module.
