Self-management abilities enable an employee to be more effective irrespective of the working environment while doing the everyday routine. Well-developed skills can help them to connect easily with coworkers, managers, and clients. It also makes the best decision when planning the working hours.
The proper maintenance of tasks is analyzed to the workers is important in every organization. But the maintenance of workers on their part is equally necessary like Attendance reporting, requesting for time off, etc. The Employee Module and the related applications in Odoo ensure that all the above operations are routinely handled with ease. With its effective monitoring facilities, it is also possible to supervise job records, productivity, work hour logging, etc.
As we know the Employee module helps to maintain the employee data, employee contract, the department he belongs to, and the salary structure of every employee in the organization. Here we will look up certain functionalities that Odoo provides for employee self-management.
1. Attendance Marking
Employees have to mark their attendance up to date. They can use either a PIN or using the Badge. This information is added to the employee from under HR settings.
So an employee can mark attendance using the pin number or scanning the badge. Badges can be printed by clicking on the 'Print Badge'.
Attendance can be marked from the Attendance module> Kiosk.
2. Time off Request
The leaves can be posted from the time off module. Click on 'New Time off' to create leaves. It opens another window as below where you can choose the leave type, duration, and reason.
Click on save. So the leave application is sent to the manager for approval.
3. Expense submission
The Odoo expense module helps to submit the expenses that are created by the employee for the company purpose and for sending reimburse requests
Here an expense is created, which is paid by the employee. Here in the above expense request, the product defined is the expensive product. Expense products are configured in this module itself, Configuration> Expense Product.
Here the cost of careful product and invoicing policy can be set.
Odoo 14 provided a new feature, that is 'expense digitization (OCR)'. This will digitize your receipts with OCR and Artificial Intelligence.
4. Timesheet in project
Most importantly timesheet entries of employees will give an overview of the tasks done in different projects and the time spent on each project's task. Employees can add a description, so that project managers can analyze what they have done on the project.
Employees can update their timesheets using the 'Timesheet' module.
By clicking 'add a line' timesheet data can add. It will ask for the project, tasks, description, date, time spent, and status of work.
Odoo 14 provides a new feature in a timesheet, the 'START' timer, which will automatically record the work time in the timesheet.
