How to Create a New Commission Plan in Odoo 18 CRM

It is an excellent marketing strategy that supports the company's growth. One of the brand-new features of Odoo ERP Software that enables us to compensate the partner for referring a new sale is the Commission plan. We pay them a commission that is equivalent to a certain percentage of the entire amount that is invoiced to the partner.

To inspire the salesperson to give it their all in every fight in this industry, you must also recognize their accomplishment. Commissions from sales are a major factor in this. That instance, a sales commission is a type of financial assistance used to motivate salespeople to close more deals. The CRM Commission plan is capable of functioning as a standalone commission plan module. It gives salespeople the financial push they need to accomplish their specific objectives. The CRM commission plan is primarily divided into two types of compensation plans: revenue and products. 

There are two varieties of income types: graded commission and straight commission. The CRM Commission plan also includes the CRM dashboard, which enables you to obtain an overview of the Odoo 18 CRM Module. You get access to all the data on CRM modules, including leads, opportunities, projected revenue, overall revenue, and other reports on various CRM tasks. In addition, the sales force and individual salespeople will be compensated based on the business prospects they generated for the organization.

A commission plan may be put into place and given to the customer based on their success and partner level. This feature makes it possible to monitor and properly observe both present and potential customers. The Odoo 18 CRM Module is one of the most crucial components of the Odoo ERP Software, which is applicable to all types of businesses.

Customers can choose from a vast array of capabilities offered by Odoo 18. It offers opportunities to conduct business with various partners. Customers can exchange leads and possibilities with you from any of your partners. If they decide to make a sale, you can give them a commission. With the commission plan function in the Odoo ERP software, you can offer a portion of the commission to your clients who are prepared for sales.

Under the Settings in Configuration menu, you can have two options, as in the screenshot below.

The first one is ‘Automatic PO frequency’, which is how often purchase orders will be automatically validated. It can be set as weekly, monthly, or quarterly. The second one is the ‘Minimum PO amount total’, which is The minimum sum required for purchase orders to be automatically confirmed.

There are a few procedures you must follow to configure these commission programs. First, as can be seen below, the Commission Plans option is available under the Reseller's Tab in the Configuration menu.

Select the NEW option if you need to create a new commission plan. You need to fill in some information there. In the Name section, you must now provide a name for the commission plan. In other words, the commission plan will be called Commission 10% if you choose to provide commission at the rate of 10% of the invoiced amount. That means Mitchell Admin will be giving a 10 % discount. Below that, you have the purchase default product option, where the default product for the purchase is commission. Now, in the Company section, you must enter the name of the company, as provided in the screenshot below.

The Rules tab is where rules are created. You can supply Product Category, Product, Sales Order Template, Pricelist, Rate, Capped, and Maximum Commission in that order, using the Add a Line option, as in the screenshot below. There, we have the option to indicate if we want to provide our partner commission for a particular product or product category. If the option to add a subscription template is chosen, then that subscription template will be subject to this rule. We can set a percentage rate in this area.

If you enable capped, then only then will the maximum commission be active. Here, we can determine the highest commission that we are able to give. Once you have entered all of the required information, click the Save button.

Let's now examine how to choose this specific commission structure for your partner's business. You can choose the partner's contact information for this process from the Customers menu, or from the contact module, where, you have the option of commission plan, partner level, as in the screenshot below.

The Partner Activation option is located below the Partner Assignment tab, and you must provide the Commission Plan here. 10% of the billed amount will be paid to the partner as a commission when a partner refers a customer from the offered product category. You will now see a field to provide the referrer, where you must enter your partner's ID.

Now, go to the Sales module, and create a new quotation. There, select the customer and referrer from the provided list, as in the screenshot below.

Here the referrer Gemini Furniture refers a customer ‘Deco Addict’ to the company. Once an invoice has been paid by the customer, the referrer will get 10% of the invoice as a commission to the referrer.

Now, we have created the rules for the product ‘Bacon Burger’, 100 quantities with a unit sales price of $5000, which we can add to the Orders line. Here, you can see the referrer commission displayed at the bottom of sales order.

Since we have made a specific commission plan for the partner, the commission plan can now be displayed in that area. You can then make an invoice and validate the sales order.

Now, let us confirm and make the delivery.

10% of the invoiced amount will be sent to the partner's account upon completion of the payment procedure. After then, a request for proposals will be created for the partner along with the product commission.

You can now quickly confirm the order and create the vendor bill as a result. After that, you can also provide the partner their commission. Using the Odoo ERP Software, set up a commission plan for your partner in this manner.
