The localization features of Odoo are impressive and useful on many occasions. As we discussed the translation feature of Odoo in the previous blog, there are many other useful localization features. One of the important among it is changing the language of Odoo. Yes, it is possible..! you can use Odoo in your own language. Odoo presently supports nearby 80 languages which include most of the widely used languages. In this blog, I will be explaining 'How to use Odoo in local language'.
To use any local language in Odoo you have to load the language from Load a Translation menu under settings ->Translations. Click Load a Translation to open the wizard.
Choose the language to which you want to translate the Odoo Instance.
If you check the "Websites to translate" checkbox you will have the option to change the navigation language on your website. Then click the Load button.
After loading the selected language, the system will display a message indicating that the selected language is successfully installed.
Now it's time to change the preferred language of the Odoo instance. You can change the present language to the newly installed language. For that, click the name label in the top right corner of the window, choose ‘Preferences’ from the drop-down menu.
It will redirect you to the ‘Change My Preferences‘ wizard.
You can change the language from this wizard. Select the newly installed language from the 'Language' drop-down button and click SAVE. Now the displayed language will be changed to the new one. In this way, every user can change his preferred language.
The administrator can set different languages for individual users from Settings -> Users -> Users. All the users in the system will be displayed here. Choose the user whose language is to be changed. Select the user and click on Edit in the top left corner.
Under Preferences, you can change the Language to any previously installed language. Select the language and click Save.
