Deliver your Ecommerce Efficiently with Odoo

Functional Website&E-commerce

Convenience never goes out of trend. Would convenience alone do? The customers must be able to connect with the sellers. This will help the business retain its momentum. Things were easier in the offline world. People connect with people in no time and this was enough to keep them coming as long as we provide good service and products. But with the advent of online stores, creating this connection with the customers is getting harder. There is no human contact and the site speaks for itself. So to get people coming back to our site, we must let our eCommerce site do the talking for themselves.
Ecommerce is no more the future, it is the present. In order to be a successful eCommerce retailer, we must care to adopt the latest technological trends. This could be applied to improve our eCommerce to be a more personalized experience. Personalized and engaging eCommerce sites will for sure entertain and impress our customers and win more customers in the gradual run.
eCommerce has a future ahead where the experience gets more and more personalized. The customer data, interests, and engagement with the eCommerce sites are used to make the shopping experience more personalized and impressive. The best thing that eCommerce could provide to their customers is the feeling of being attended to, even without that personal connection that retail clerks and salespeople create.
For a successful future in eCommerce, we must be capable of capturing the interests and shopping behaviors of our customers. A good insight into the customer shopping behavior would allow sellers to suggest and promote products that might interest them. This would boost their engagement with the site. Familiarity with the website would encourage them to choose us more often for their purchases.
The spike in eCommerce retailers has increased the competition and it has become a major concern for many SMEs as to how they can stand out in the crowd. Sales and marketing teams are burning the midnight oil to find the key that would help them stand out from the millions of shopping sites that enter the market every day. Cross-border sales, drop-shipping, and so on are in the trend for the eCommerce industry in 2021.
Customers prefer a minimal user interface that lets them navigate and shop with ease. Most companies with an already established online retail presence saw themselves at a considerable advantage as the pandemic hit us. It is crucial to have the eCommerce site in full-fledged efficiency as this would provide the flexibility to shift from offline to online and otherwise as to the customer’s demand changes.
To be successful in the flexible online market, we must take care of both customer satisfaction and the smoothness of back-end processes. A streamlined action from the inventory to the delivery is what will direct your eCommerce for a profitable future. Integrating the eCommerce site with an ERP system or building an eCommerce site with the ERP modules will make the back-to-front operations run efficiently.
For easy management of eCommerce, we have to run it unified with all our sales front. Managing and integrating the eCommerce sales with others would stand the benefit of saving time and having a better overview of product movement from the inventory to the customer. The insights that a good ERP system can provide with regards to sales and supply in the eCommerce platform as well as in comparison with other sales fronts will help gain better control over the sales. Maximizing revenue is only possible with good analytics of our customer purchases and interactions. An ERP system with efficient reporting systems that provide real-time data will be the most helpful tool for this.

Installing the eCommerce module will add the eCommerce dashboard to the website module. Fully integrated with the website module all eCommerce settings can be modified from the website module.
eCommerce dashboard
The website module will now open an eCommerce dashboard. Here we can view the qualitative data of our online sales via the eCommerce website. The parameters of the analytical report are customizable.
eCommerce product categories
We can configure the eCommerce products into various categories from the configuration in the Website module.
Website > Configuration > Products > eCommerce categories.
We can create various categories in the configuration and this would let the products on the eCommerce site be displayed within these categories. We can name the category, a parent category if needed, and then the website for the category. After configuring the categories we can create products under these categories.
Create products
We can create the from products menu in the website module.
After configuring the product details like name, type, price, and so on, we can move to the eCommerce tab. The eCommerce tab will have fields to configure the product for its online sales.
We can choose the website, select the product category for categorization in the website and also add alternative or accessory products in the configuration. We must note that the product category in the general information is different from the eCommerce category. The general information will be used for other inventory and supply chain activities. The category in eCommerce is limited to the website.
The alternative products will be suggested to the website visitors to consider if they have an interest in a particular product.
We can also add more product media, which too will be displayed on the eCommerce site.
We can also create product variants from the products menu. This will allow the customer to choose from the available option of the same product.
We can create Attributes from configuration and these attributes can be used to create product variants. We can add related products to each attribute created and we can then create multiple variants of the same product.
We can enhance our product engagement in the website with various tools like wishlist, optional product and variants, compare, and so on.
Ecommerce orders
The orders made via our website will be displayed in the orders menu. We can view the order details and invoice the same to the customer.
We can also schedule the next activity for the order, in case we have to send a customer satisfaction form, product review form, and so on.
Abandoned cart
This will help us remind the customer of items they have left behind in their cart. The follow-up mail and trigger can be set to allow the customer to send an automated mail.
Template and time are configured in the settings under order follow-up.
We can also find reports on our online sales from the reporting tab. We can customize the parameters and generate a report as excel sheets when needed.
