If you installed the module, Odoo will allow you to dive into the module without any timelapse. The home dashboard of the eLearning module is depicted below where you can view all the courses defined in the platform. In the kanban view, the window includes the details of each course as separate cards which contain the options for View the course, the Number of views, Duration, Contents, Attendees, and many more aspects of the courses defined. You can select each of these options for viewing and you have the provision to make changes or modifications if required.

This is the Kanban view of this window where you can view various default as well as customizable sorting functionalities which will help you in the filtering and group by operations of the platform. Here in this window you can view the Name of the courses, Course type, Visibility, Enroll policy, Responsible person of each course defined. So far we were discussing the overview of the e-learning module and now let us discuss how to create new courses on the platform.

Creating a new course

In the Odoo e-learning platform, you have the provision to create a new course by selecting the create icon available in the overview window. The image of the creation window is depicted below where you can specify the course title, allocate tags associated with it to categorize and filter the described courses. Also, you can provide a picture or icon related to this course. At the top of the window, you can view various tabs such as Visits, Finished, Attendees, Reviews, Go to website. The courses and the visits can be viewed by selecting the menu available and the courses finished by the candidates will be described in the finished menu. Moreover, the attendees at the reviews made by the candidates can be viewed in the Attendees menu and the reviews can be viewed by selecting the Reviews tab. Finally, the Go to website menu allows you to navigate to the company website for viewing the course.

Under the Contents tab of the course creation window, you can add the Section, Content, and Certification for the course.

Now let us have a look at the Description tab of the course creation window where you can define the course description and the objectives of the course operation. This description will be displayed on the top of the course page just below the title.

Under the Options tab of the course creation window, you have so many fields related to the course creation. Here you have the options for managing the Courses, Access Rights, Communication, and Display. The Type of the Courses can be selected as Training or Documentation. Also, you can assign the Responsible person along with the Website to publish this content. The rating can be enabled under the Communication tab together with the Forum description. Moreover, the Enroll policy can be made Public, on Invitation, or On payment. Finally, the Visibility of the course can be selected as Public or Members only. If we come to the Karma rules tab, where you can define the karma points for understanding the performance of the candidates who pass through various stages of their course. The karma points are the reward points for the candidates on various stages of operation being conducted. This can be set while grading the course for adding comments, responding to the questions, asking questions or doubts, voting lessons, and many more.

Under the Rewards tab, you have the option to provide the points for Reviewing the course and Finishing the course. In the Access Rights tab, you can allocate the points for Adding a review, Comment, and Vote.

After allocating all the required fields, you should save the window by clicking in the Save button available on the top left corner of the creation window. It is also possible to edit the courses and details in the front end at the time of publishing the course. Moreover, you can share the course with the candidates by clicking on the share button available.

So far we were discussing how to create a new course in the platform and now let us discuss the course group aspect available in the module.

Course Group

In the Odoo eLearning module, you have the provision to create various courses. The courses defined in the platform can be categorized based on the groups which belong to. This feature will be helpful for both candidates and providers for easily identifying the courses. The course group menu can be accessed from the configuration tab of this module.

In this window, you can view all the courses described in the platform and you have the provision to create a new one by selecting the Create icon. You are also allowed to make desirable changes in the created ones by selecting the Edit option available in each window. The image of the course creation window is depicted below where you can provide the Group Name and can enable the options Menu entry. Moreover, you can allocate the Tag Name based on the course type and it can be indicated based on your color selection.

As we clear on how to create course groups in the e-learning platform and now let us discuss the Content Tags option available in the module.

Content Tags

In the Odoo eLearning module, you have the feature named Content Tags which will help you to create the content tag. These content tags can be allocated to various content defined in the platform based on their course group. The content tags menu can be accessed from the Configuration tab of the module. So far we were discussing the Content Tags feature available in the platform and now let us have a look at how to conduct Certification programs on the platform.

Certifications

In this module, you are allowed to create certification programs for evaluating the candidates for their eLearning courses. For creating certification programs you can select the Certification menu available. This menu can be accessed by taking the route.

This window can be viewed in both Kanban and List view. From this window itself, you will get a glimpse of the certification program. Also, you have the option of scheduling activities. This can be done by selecting the clock icon available in each certification; you also have the provision to Edit the details by selecting the respective one. Moreover, the certification window can also be viewed in list view with the details such as Survey title, Survey stage, Registered persons, Attempts, Success, Success ratio, Average score, and the image of the window is depicted below.

Now you can create new certification by selecting the create option available. The image of the certification creation window is depicted below where you can provide a survey title. Under the Questions tab, you can define the questions. This can be done by selecting the Add a section available under the question tab. After providing a section name you can add the questions to the section by clicking on the Add a question option. By selecting this option you will be directed to a popup window as depicted below where you can mention the question on the allotted space. You can select the Question Type as Multiple lines text box, Single line text box, Numerical value, Date, Date-time, Multiple choice only one answer, Multiple choice multiple answers, or based on the Matrix operation.

Moreover, you can add additional explanations about your question or you can illustrate it with pictures or a video under the description tab available in the popup window.

Additionally, you can enable the various options such as Mandatory answers, Conditional Display, Question Time Limit,under the Options tab available. After providing all the details you can select the Save & Close button.

Again come back to the certification creation window where also you can view an Options tab. Here in this tab, you have various options for the certification operation. Under the questions menu, you can allocate the certification layout, progression mode, survey time limit, question selection. Under the scoring menu, you can define the scoring aspects such as the success percentage, email template, and certification template. The candidates’ access mode and the live session details can also be allocated under the respective menu.

After filling in all the required fields you can click on the Save button available in the top right corner of the window for saving the details. Now can view all the certifications defined in the platform on your website.

From this certification window, the candidates can select a suitable one and will be navigated to the course menu. Now the user can select the Start Now option available on each course.

The certification questions will be displayed and the candidates can answer them.

Now we understood the certification aspect in the platform and now let us discuss how to configure forums in the module.

Forums

The forums can be considered as virtual classrooms and it is the space for engaging different groups of the same ideology together so they can discuss the topics and make them clear. The Odoo platform recognizes the importance of forums and allows you to create various forums under the e-learning module. To create a new forum, you should enable the forums option available in the setting menu of the eLearning module.

After enabling the Forum option, you can view the forums menu in the eLearning dashboard. In the eLearning forums window, you can view all the created forums along with the details of the Forum Name, Posts count, Views counts, Answers count, and Favorite count. It is also possible to create new forums by selecting the Create icon available.

By selecting the create icon you will be directed to the forums creation window as depicted below where you can mention the name of the forum and you can attach the photograph in the provided space. Then you can choose the mode of operation either as questions with one answer or as discussions (multiple answers). In addition to it, you can specify the website for the forum posting.

Under the Options tab, you can assign the privacy option and the default sorting can be mentioned. Finally, you can specify the eLearning course associated with the forum.

Under the Karma Gains tab, you can set the karma reward points for the candidate’s responses. These points will be considered for grading the courses.

Under the Karma Related Rights Tab, the various karma-related rights and rules are enlisted here. These points are the criteria for the eLearning course evaluation.

After providing all the details in the forum creation window you can save the details by selecting the save button available on the top left corner of this window. When the candidates log into the eLearning portal through the website, they will be able to view the forums.

For viewing this forum you can click on the Go to Website option available in the forum creation window.

In this window, one can provide the question by giving the Title and the Description of the question in the description box available. Also, the candidates can allocate the Tags for the question on the allotted space. Now all the members on the platform can view and respond to your question if they are online. All the members can participate in the discussion and the Q & A Session available. The below image depicts how the question will be visible to the other members of the platform.

So far we were discussing how to create an eLearning forum in the Odoo eLearning module and this will help the registered candidates to discuss and learn from each other. Also, we discussed how to create new posts under the created posts. Now let us have a glimpse of the post window available on the platform.

Forum Posts

The forum posts window in the platform can be accessed from the dashboard of the eLearning module by taking the route E-learning -> Forum -> Posts.

Moreover, you can create new posts based upon the forums by accessing the create option available in the eLearning forum posts window. Here in this post creation window, you can provide a Name for the post and you can allocate the forum on which it should be posted. Moreover, you can define the fields such as Tags, Status, and Reason. The Website, Question, Created by, Updated details are automatically allocated by the platform. As we clear on the forums and forum posts in Odoo and now let us have a glimpse on the various reporting sessions in the platform.

Reporting

The Odoo platform includes an effective reporting session with all of its modules. The same in the case of the eLearning module, allows you to generate quantitative as well as analytical reports for the various operations such as courses, contents, revenues, reviews, quizzes, forums, certifications, and many more conducted in the platform. Moreover, you have the provision to add predefined or custom filters to showcase the relevant data and groups. You can view all these reports in different views such as a graph, bar, line, and pie chart.

Certifications

The certification option available in the reporting menu is defining all the information about the certification and the creation window as described earlier.

Contents

The reporting menu of the eLearning platform provides the Contents tab which will depict the various contents described in the platform in a single chart. This reporting aspect can also be viewed in the form of line, bar, and pie charts.

Reviews

Reviews or ratings are one of the reporting features that define the analytical data on the reviews and ratings stated by the candidates for their respective courses established in the platform. These reports can be accessed in the form of a line, bar, and pie chart. The various default, as well as customizable sorting functionalities, are also available.

The various reports on the aspect forums and postings can be viewed by accessing the forum menu available under the Reporting tab. The various filtering and group by operations are available in the window. Moreover, the various types of measures and the different views such as bar, line, and pie charts are also available.

You can access the Quizzes tab under the reporting menu of the e-learning platform. In this window, all the quizzes conducted on the platform are enlisted along with the Question Name, Content, Attempts Count, and many more.
