The Odoo Studio module offers a codeless feature that allows users to customize their Odoo applications without the need for any coding knowledge. With the drag-and-drop interface, users can create new fields, edit existing ones, and design their own dashboards and reports easily. This feature saves time and effort for users who are not familiar with programming languages, enabling them to make changes to their applications quickly and efficiently. Additionally, the feature ensures that the customization process is more user-friendly and accessible to a wider range of users without the need to hire developers or IT specialists.
As mentioned in the previous sections, after clicking on the studio icon, the users will be able to edit existing applications or simply create a new custom application.
After clicking on the new app icon, the user will be asked to provide a name for the custom app. Further, the user can also design a preferred icon or simply upload it from their device.
As we have named our custom module now, the next step is to create menus under the app. On the following page, after naming the module, the user will be asked to name the menus that need to be added to the module. Moreover, they can also choose to add the menu to the new module or add an extra menu to an existing module. However, if an existing module is chosen, then it is mandatory to specify the module to which the menu needs to be added.
The next page suggests the various features that can be added to the new module. All these features come pre-built, and by enabling them, they will be available in the module. Features such as chatter, company, notes, custom sorting, contact details, etc. are available as shown in the figure below.
Clicking on the “Create your app” button, the custom app will be created with the given name, menus, and features. In the next window, the user will be prompted to add the required components and fields to customize the application even further.
At the end of the process, the user can create a custom application without even writing a single line of code. Thus, having an idea of the requirements and functionality of the application, it becomes easier for anybody to create a custom app using Odoo Studio.
