18. Deliver Content By Email
The Deliver Content by Email feature in Odoo 18 Enterprise Sales
enhances communication by automating the delivery of product-related
emails, ensuring that customers receive essential information at the
right time. This feature allows businesses to send personalized
emails directly from the Sales module, helping improve customer
engagement and efficiency. When an invoice is validated, Odoo
automatically triggers an email based on a predefined template,
delivering product specifications, instructions, or other relevant
content to the customer.
To activate this feature, navigate to Configuration > Settings within
the Sales module. Under the Product Catalog section, enable the
Deliver Content by Email option and click Save to apply the changes.
Once activated, businesses can configure email templates for specific
products. This configuration is done within the Accounting tab of
each product's form, where an Email Template dropdown appears,
allowing users to select an existing template or create a new one.
Custom templates can include product details, instructions, media
attachments, or links, ensuring customers receive comprehensive
information about their purchases.
After setting up email templates, the sales process continues as
usual. A Sales Order is created and confirmed, moving the order to
the Sale Order state.
Depending on the Invoicing Policy, the delivery process may vary. If
invoicing is based on Ordered Quantity, an invoice can be created
before delivery. However, if the invoicing policy is set to
Delivered Quantity, the product must be shipped first. Once ready,
the invoice is generated by clicking Create Invoice, selecting the
invoicing method (either a Regular Invoice or Down Payment), and
confirming it.
As soon as the invoice is validated, Odoo automatically sends the
pre-configured email to the customer, ensuring seamless
communication without manual effort.
By integrating automated email delivery into the sales workflow, Odoo
18 Enterprise Sales enhances operational efficiency and ensures that
customers receive timely product-related information.
