Tax Return
The accounting period structure of the business is set by using this tax return. The Opening Date, which establishes the beginning of accounting records in the system, can be entered by the user. Additionally, it defines the Fiscal Year End, which establishes the financial year's closing date and is displayed as December 31. The frequency with which accounting periods are formed for reporting purposes is determined by the Periodicity option, which is set to Monthly.
The window includes:
- Opening Date: The start date of the business's Odoo accounting records.
- Fiscal Year End: The fiscal year's end date
- Periodicity: How often accounting periods occur
This configuration is crucial because it regulates the grouping and organization of journal entries, tax returns, and financial reports according to accounting periods. The user hits Apply to activate the accounting period configuration after providing the necessary data.
