Journals
Journals are important records that provide important details about a business's transactions according to the completion date of each transaction. Account names, dates, amounts, and even whether the transaction was recorded as a credit or debit are all revealed.
You may peruse pre-configured journals appropriate for nearly any sector with Odoo19 Accounting. When necessary, you can also define new journals using the software. The Odoo19 platform provides five alternative journal styles to display similar types of transactions in a single journal. The five journal types in Odoo19 can be listed in the following order.
- Sales
- Purchase
- Bank
- Cash
- Credit Card
- Miscellaneous
Sales Journal
Every single transaction related to sales is documented in the sales diary type. You can use the Odoo 19 platform to construct several sales journals according to your needs. For instance, you can keep separate transaction records for retail and wholesale sales if necessary. Refunds and client invoices will be stored here.
Purchase Journal
To compile all transactions pertaining to purchases, use the Purchase diary record. Received vendor bills and their reimbursements can be published in many journals for purchase, much like in sales journals.
Bank Journal
The Bank Journal carefully records each and every bank transaction. You may efficiently keep an eye on vendor and customer bank payments as well as any other transaction that your associated bank account records by uploading your bank statements.
Cash Journal
A cash notebook can now be used to document all cash transactions. This type of journal can be used to monitor daily cash transactions, petty cash transactions, and details about customer cash payments.
Credit Card Journal
All credit card transactions can now be recorded in a credit card journal. All customer and vendor credit card payment information can be tracked using this kind of journal.
Miscellaneous Journal
The final type of diary, the Miscellaneous journal, is excellent for recording transactions not covered by the four journals we just discussed: Cash, Purchase, Bank, and Sales. The journal type can take into account inventory value, inventory modifications, exchange difference, opening balance, and numerous other entries that don't fit into any of the other four journal types. Posting a journal-style entry, even for a pay cheque or all of your edits, is very simple. There are no advanced settings available for the Miscellaneous journals.
On the Odoo19 platform, any of these five journal kinds may be conveniently allocated a sequence number.
