For controlling and regulating all the manufacturing processes, you are provided with an efficient kind of management of production, orders, bills, tracking, and every stage in the line of commodities under a company. Under an organization, manufacturing procedures have to be given much relevance from making sure of the quality of every product in every stage of production. For that, you have got the Odoo ERP Software for the management of the manufacturing operations in order to increase the efficiency and thereby increase the high-quality product as a result. The module will help you with manufacturing orders, bills of materials, managing maintenance, scrap orders, repair, and similar kinds of other activities which are connected with the production of a high-quality product. here, let's look at different operations and their functions in detail.

Manufacturing Orders

During the process of manufacturing a product, you have got different steps, such as collecting good quality raw materials, making necessary arrangements for the workstation, tracking the routes and status of the product, check-in, and making sure of the quality of the particular product, and many others. All these operations help the proper management of good quality products. So, in order to make a similar kind of product configuration, you have to create a manufacturing order. The manufacturing orders can be made using two methods. The first method is by focusing on the fault stages there are arranged under the Odoo in order to complete production. Another method is the creation of manufacturing orders when you are done with the customization of the work center and operations to perform the processes in the products. Here, let us look at how to create a manufacturing order using Odoo ERP Software. On opening the manufacturing module from the app list of the Odoo ERP, you will get a page, as shown in the screenshot below.

The page shows the manufacturing orders, as shown in the screenshot above. There you will get already configured manufacturing needs. The details include reference, schedule date, product, next activity, source, component availability, quantity, UoM, expected duration, real duration, company name, and the status of the manufacturing order, respectively. The page can be seen in the list view as well, other than the Kanban view. Other than the list and Kanban, you can make use of the calendar, activity, and pivot views also. According to the user's need, the view can be selected. The pivot view and graphical view can be used to make reports of every manufacturing order that is made in the module.

The filters and Group by options can also be made use of if required. Under the filters option, you have the sub-options, such as to do, starred, unbuilt, draft, confirmed, planned, in progress, to close, done, canceled, waiting, ready, planning issues, and schedule date options respectively. Under the group by option, you have options such as product, status, material availability, procurement group, schedule date, and add custom group, respectively. You can also make use of the favorite option if required. Now let's look at how to create a new manufacturer order. For creation, you have to get the option from the operation menu provided under the manufacturing module. The page of creation will be, as shown in the screenshot below.

On the creation page, you can certain options to get filled. The options include the name of the product, bill of the material, quantity of the product, scheduled date, responsible user, and name of the company. Now, below that, you have got some tabs, such as components and miscellaneous. Under the components option, you have the Add a Line option, where you can add the components that are necessary for the production of particular products. Now, near to that, you have the option of miscellaneous, which helps you to add the operation type and sources in the allotted spaces. The tab will be, as shown in the screenshot below.

Now, under the settings option, you can have the option of by profit, which can be triggered. The options will be available under the settings, as shown in the image below.

On triggering the option of by-product, the option will be available in the manufacturing order, where, now, you can add the by-products, which come along with the main product, as shown in the screenshot below.

Here, you have got the option of by-product on the manufacturing order creation page. There, you can provide the name of the product, to product, UoM, and serial number. It can be made using the add a line option. Now, you also have got the option of work orders on activating it from the settings option.

Under the work order option, you can add the operation, work center, name of the product, quantity scheduled to start, expected duration, and real duration, respectively. The real duration will get automatically updated according to the manufacturing process tasks. When you are done with all the details, you can go to the Save icon. On saving the newly created manufacturing order, you will get the option of Confirm. The option helps of confirming helps you to confirm the newly created manufacturing order.

Now, on confirming the newly created manufacturing order, you will get the options such as MAEK AS DONE, SCRAP, UNLOCK, and CANCEL, respectively. When you are done with the mark as a done option. Now, you have got the smart button, such as traceability and product moves options. The traceability option helps you to provide reliable reports with the current location, lot, and serial number, if there is available, of the particular product, as shown in the screenshot below.

These are the processes to be followed in order to create a manufacturing order under the manufacturing module. The planning option provided in the main menu of the module helps in the automatic reservation of stocks for the operations which are waiting for the product availability. On activating the run scheduler option, the reordering rule will be activated.

On selecting the option of planning from the main menu ar of the manufacturing module, mentioned before, you will get the option of running the scheduler from it. On selecting the run scheduler option, you will get the pop-up window; as shown above, the stock will be reserved for the operations which are waiting for availability, and the reordering rules get auto-activated. Then, you will also get the option of security lead time in the settings option under the configuration menu, which helps you to schedule the manufacturing orders prior to avoid delays in manufacturing. The security days for every manufacturing operation can be provided here very easily. The option in the settings option can be seen, as shown in the screenshot below.

Now, we will look at how to manage and create the work centers in the manufacturing module very easily. As we all know, work centers are those places or units of organization where the manufacturing processes usually take place. During the process of manufacturing a particular product, you will be in need of various types of equipment and working spaces during each stage of production. So, by determining the work centers for every activity in the process of manufacturing, we can make sure of the quality of the product at every step. The module of manufacturing helps you to make various workspaces for every activity under it for the production of a particular product very easily. Multiple activities can also be managed using the module by making separate work centers. For that, go to the work center option provided on the settings option, which can be activated from there.

Now, we will look at how to manage and create the work centers in the manufacturing module very easily. As we all know, work centers are those places or units of organization where the manufacturing processes usually take place. During the process of manufacturing a particular product, you will be in need of various types of equipment and working spaces during each stage of production. On the page, you can see the list of already created work centers provided. The filters, group by, and favorite options can be made for the required uses, which helps you easily categorize. On the page, you will get the details, such as the name of the work center, code, related tags, alternative work center, cost per hour, the capacity of the work center, time efficiency, and OEE target, respectively. The page can be seen in the list view as well as others in the Kanban view. If you have to make editing in the already created work center, then select the particular one that you have to edit. In order to create a similar kind of work center, go to the NEW Option. The creation page of the work center will be, as shown in the screenshot below.

On the creation page, you can provide the name of the work center, related tags, alternative work centers, code, working hours, and the name of the company, respectively. In the general information tab, you can include the product information details, such as time efficiency, capacity, and OEE target as well. Under the costing information, you can provide the cost per hour, setup time, and cleanup time also. Now, as shown, a description of the product can be added under the description option. The next tab is Specific Capacity, which can provide the specific capacity of the work center. There, you can add the name of the product, product UoM, and the capacity of the product as well. It can be added using the ADD A LINE option. The option will be, as shown in the screenshot below.

Now, when you are done with providing all the important details regarding the work center, you can go to the SAVE icon, which helps you to add the newly created work center to the already created list of work centers very easily.
