It is crucial to gather feedback from customers and clients regarding the goods and services the business offers. The best way to get audience opinions is through surveys. Additionally, it will assist the business in assessing the needs, preferences, and thoughts of its clients. Since surveys are now available in digital format, they offer a more practical way to get responses. Creating online surveys for your clients and employees is simple with the Odoo 19 Survey module. In Odoo 19, creating and publishing a survey for public input is simple. You can use the audience's responses to create survey reports because they will be automatically recorded in the backend.
The results of the survey can be used to assess your marketing strategy and put the report's recommendations into practice to boost company output.
You can create surveys that are tailored to your needs using the Odoo 19 Survey module. Customer-based surveys will help you discover more about your goods and services, while staff-based surveys can be used to get feedback on requests, working conditions, and employee satisfaction. The Odoo 19 Survey module will be thoroughly covered in this chapter.
Once the installation is complete, you can locate the Survey module on Odoo's main dashboard by selecting it from the application module.
1.Survey
As shown in the graphic below, all created surveys are displayed when you enter the Survey module on this platform.
The Kanban view of this window will display each survey's name, number of replies, certification, pass rate, and success rate. This platform offers the List, Activity, and Kanban views. For finding and sorting surveys, the straightforward and customizable Filters and Group By options will be helpful.
The three vertical dots that appear in the upper right corner of each survey tab can be used to edit, share, or remove the survey. As seen in the figure below, the clock indicator that shows up on each survey tab can be used to schedule a number of survey work.
Click the New button to start a new survey.
Test administration and staff evaluation are only two of the many uses for a survey form. The type of survey creation is chosen from the top of the screen and is determined by usage.
- Survey: A typical survey form, like one used to get client feedback, is included below.
- Live Sessions: Live sessions are used to conduct sessions in e-learning courses.
- Assessment: This is used in tests and certifications.
- Custom: These have particular use.
You can enter the Title of the new survey in the Survey Title field. You can designate a worker in the Responsible field to complete this survey. You may also upload an appropriate image for the survey in the designated field. Then, you can add the Language in the allotted space.
Additionally, you are given limited choices regarding access restrictions, such as the maximum number of attempts and the eligibility of participants using the Restricted to option. Specifically, it allows you to regulate who has the link or has been invited, limit the number of attempts, and need login in order to limit access to the survey. Select 'Add a Question' from the Questions menu to include new questions in this survey.
As seen in the screenshot below, you can enter the question and question type in the pop-up window that displays.
The question type can be a Multiple choice with only one answer, Multiple choice multiple answers allowed, Multiple lines text box, Single lines text box, Date, Datetime, Scale, or Numerical Value. There are three types of multiple-choice questions: Matrix, Multiple-choice with numerous possible answers, and Multiple-choice. Different answers will be provided based on the question. Customers can answer the question on multiple lines, for instance, by using the many-line text box. Respondents should only enter one line of text in the Single Line Text Box.
Multiple choice: responders can choose just one response from a list. Multiple choice: responders are permitted to select more than one response from a list. Several, A brief answer input for open-ended responses is the Lines Text Box. Text Box with One Line, Numerical values can only be entered as numbers. Scale Datetime enables the option of both date and time, while Date offers a calendar picker for choosing a specific date.
Depending on the question type you choose, the Answers page will show the pertinent options. Answers can be specified on the Answers tab if the question is 'Multiple Choice: Only One Answer' type. Choose the box next to " Correct lead " in the column that most accurately depicts the right response once the options have been displayed.
Next, enter the grade for the right response in the Score for this Answer column. The score needed for the response can also be added here.
You can enter the score needed for the generated question here, as shown below.
A participant will receive the designated score if they choose the right response from the list of options.
You can include additional information about the inquiry on the Description tab. Depending on the kind of inquiry, there are several options to choose from on the choices tab.
Then, you have the Options tab, as shown below. The Show Comments Field is part of the Answer action. There is space for the Comment Message. Check the "Comment is an Answer" box to treat the comment as a response. You can enable the mandatory answer field if the question requires a response. The purpose of this inquiry is to provide customers with an error notice in the event that they choose to ignore it. Only if the user chose the right conditional response in a prior question can you display this question.
To achieve this, activate Conditional Display and enter the desired question in the Triggering Question area. You can use the inquiry Time Limit option to specify a time limit for each inquiry during Live Sessions. After completing the question creation window, click Save & Close. You can use the Save & New option to create a new question.

Next is the Options tab. There are several alternatives available in the Questions section. Pagination options include one page for each question, one page for each section, and one page for all the questions. Either the number or the percentage of time left can be used to demonstrate progress. All of the questions or a random selection of them may be included in each segment. The questions may be selected at random if the Randomized option is selected. In the live session, this mode is not used. The user can return to the previous page by using the Back button.
The participant session can be accessed by anybody who has the link or by those who have been invited. Before responding to the survey questions, the user must log in with a valid token if Require Login is enabled. Use LimitAttempt to limit the quantity of login attempts. There, the number of permitted trials can be selected, as shown below.
During the Time & Scoring session, the survey time limit can be modified. You have three choices: no scoring, scoring with answers at the end, or scoring without answers at the end. You can select the Certified Email Template option if the Is a Certification option is enabled.
The minimum percentage score a participant needs to get in order to pass the survey is specified by the necessary score option. The validity option establishes the number of days that the certificate is valid following test completion. For those who complete the survey, a PDF certificate is generated using a certified email template.
The Description tab is where you can add a description of the survey, as shown below. This will show up on the survey's home page. Before they begin, you may use this description to help your applicants comprehend the survey's goals and rules.
The Session Link setting is contained in the Session Code for the active session. With Reward Quick Answers, users can receive extra points for responding quickly. You can also set the time limit in the provided space.
When the survey is finished, the client will see the message that was input on the End Message tab.
You may save the survey by choosing the Save option once you have entered all the required information in the new survey creation box. The window will have buttons to Close, Test, Share, and Start a Live Session.
Before making the survey available to the general public, you may test it using the Test button. Testing allows you to confirm if the survey is accurate. By testing the survey, you can adjust any questions that are confusing or hard to understand. As can be seen below, a new page will open when you click the Test button.
The survey's description is displayed on the homepage. You can test the survey by clicking the Start Survey button.
You have the option to thoroughly review each question and respond to each one independently. Let's start by defining the Single Line Text Box, as shown in the illustration below.
You can customize the Answer tab's settings, including "Input must be an email" and "Save as user nickname." Additionally, the corresponding question list can be specified on the description tab if a description is available.
The Options tab is where you may make the various configurations. The Constraints options, such as the Error message and the Mandatory Answer, can only be specified if the Mandatory Answer Option is activated. Additionally, by activating the Conditional Display option, the Answering criteria can be specified. If you want the survey question to be timed and live, you need to set the Question Time Limit.
You can select the Save & New option after defining the question, which will bring up the same box with no entries. Your previously specified and produced survey questions will remain in place. Next, let's look at queries that use the date component. Date is selected as the question type in this instance, and the Date of Birst is asked as a question. Furthermore, the element required to verify that the candidate has enabled the obligatory field and declared the error message.
Once the question has been defined, select Save & New. Here, the defined question is the Employee Code, the Question Type's Numeric Value option is chosen, and the Mandatory Field is enabled.
After saving the question and selecting to enter a new one, you will be presented with the identical question setup window. This time, there will only be one potential answer to the multiple-choice question. The term "query" in appraisal refers to the type of appraisal for which the employee is applying. For the multiple-choice question type, there is only one possible answer.
When answering the related question, survey participants have the option to select Half Yearly, Yearly, or After Probation under the Answers tab.
We will now choose the multiple choice: multiple answers allowed, where different answers can be picked from the stated ones, based on the candidate's needs. "Who are all the assessment managers?" is the query at hand. In the Answer section, four employees provide options that are grouped according to the functional domain of their positions. As a result, the candidate will have a wide range of possibilities.
After selecting the Save & Close option, you will be taken back to the Surveys and the questions defined in the respective section will be described.
In a similar vein, you can choose from a variety of other question types. After replying to every question, click the Submit button.
You can retake the survey by clicking the Take Again button, and you can examine your responses by selecting the examine Your Answers option. Click the Edit Survey button to make changes to the survey.
Here, you will see the page shown in the image below after choosing the review your answer option.
If scoring is necessary, you can now choose to score, as seen in the illustration below.
No scoring, scoring with answers at the conclusion, scoring with answers after each page, and scoring without answers are the options available there. Additionally, you can enter the necessary score in the designated area. The certificate can now be downloaded using the download certification option, as seen in the image below, if the survey was successfully completed. Additionally, you are able to view your score here.

Click the Share button to spread the word about the survey. This will assist you in inviting the intended audience via email.
By default, an invitation will show up in a pop-up window. Simply click the Send button to send the invitation after adding the recipients' names to the email body.
Click the Create Live Session button to begin a live session for this survey.
You begin the survey as soon as the invited participants arrive for the live session.
You can end the live session of the survey by using the Close Live Session option in the backend.
Clicking the Close button will end the survey.
As seen in the accompanying screenshot, participant responses will be saved in the Participants smart button.
The survey's Created on, Deadline, Partner, Email, Attempts, Status, Quiz Passed, and Score are displayed in the list view on this platform. To find out more about the responses each participant provided, you can choose a survey from this list.
You can create survey reports using the See Results option.
As can be seen below, a new window with the specifics of user responses for every problem will open. In this box, you can view the number of respondents that skipped and answered each question.
The survey can be requested by signature, archived, duplicated, and deleted using the Action menu. You can also print the survey as well.
2. Participants
Odoo 19 keeps thorough records of every participant's answers. You may examine and manage these records, which give you information about the survey's engagement and reach, using the Participants menu in the main menu bar of the Survey Module.
Participants' dashboard will provide information about the survey's creation date, name, contact, email, attempts, deadline, quiz passed, score, and status. To view the detailed information on survey respondents, click the dropdown menu beneath the survey title, as indicated below.
The Odoo platform's Advanced search box offers a number of variables by which we may arrange the surveys and obtain personalized survey reviews. Using the Action menu on the left side of the screen, users can export survey data and create spreadsheets, dashboards, and articles using the Knowledge Module interface.
3. Questions and Answers
3.1 Questions
Under the Questions & Answers menu of the module, you may view a list of every question you have ever created for an Odoo 19 survey. The list will contain questions from several surveys.
The Title, Survey, and Question Type will be displayed in the list preview. By selecting a question from this list, you can get more specific information about it. By selecting the Edit button, you can also change the question.
3.2 Suggested Values
While developing various survey question types, we may offer participants options or suggestions for the best answer. These proposed responses can be found in the Questions & Answers menu's proposed Values menu option.
3.3 Detailed Answers
The list of participant responses for various surveys made in Odoo 19 is displayed under the Detailed Answers option under the Questions & Answers menu.
The survey name, user input, question, created on, answer type, skipped, and score are all included in the list, as seen in the image above. To see more information about the respondents' answers to a specific survey question, you can choose one from this list.
